Intense, well-acted crime drama begins telecastGroundbreaking is nothing but a suitable word to describe ABS-CBN’s newest drama Sino Ang May Sala?: Mea Culpa, which will premiere tomorrow.

Last week, Dreamscape invited members of the entertainment press to the screening of the series’ special cut, which some scenes, I guess, wouldn’t be shown on television. But before the event began, everyone panicked when the ground started moving. Apparently, a 6.1 magnitude tremblor was rocking parts of Luzon.

Lead stars Jodi Sta. Maria (right) and Bela Padilla battle for love and justice in 'Sino Ang May Sala,' which premieres tonight on primetime.

Everyone in ABS-CBN’s ELJ Building had to leave the complex and huddled outside, on the street in front of the PBB house. We couldn’t go home as well because of the traffic situation and since I live in a high-rise building, I was told that tenants were also asked to stay outside the condominium for a few hours. So, I just waited for an announcement. We waited for nearly two hours before we were told that it’s safe to return inside Dolphy Theater, the event’s venue.

Imagine watching an intense movie-like series and still thinking about the quake, which could have triggered a strong aftershock that can be felt in the metro. But just five minutes into the crime drama, which stars Jody Sta. Maria and Bela Padilla and bold millennial actors Tony Labrusca, Kit Thompson, Sandino Martin, Ivana Alawi, and Ketchup Eusebio, I started to forget about the tremor. That’s how engaging the special cut was.

In Sino Ang May Sala?: Mea Culpa, Jodi plays Fina, a hardworking farmer who hopes to give her family a better future, and later on looks for and fights for her missing child. She clashes with Bela, who plays a lawyer who covers up a crime.

Their real-life nightmare begins when Juris (Bela), Andrei (Tony), Gaylord (Sandino), Greco (Kit), Lolita (Ivana), and Bogs (Ketchup) travel to Baguio to celebrate after passing the bar.

The road trip takes a disastrous turn that will compromise their future – they get into an accident that will separate Fina from her child, while Juris takes on adopting and raising the little girl.

They keep their dark secret hidden in the grave up until construction unearths a rotting corpse. Because of the news, Fina gets her hopes up, starts to believe that her daughter is still alive, and embarks on a search for her.

The controversial case then sparks a dispute between the two mothers—Fina believes her daughter is with Juris, who, in turn, defends herself against the accusation in order to keep the child she has raised and come to love.

Does Fina stand a chance to obtain justice against the five successful lawyers? Will she ever be reunited with her daughter? How long will Juris and her friends hide the truth?

DMCI Homes bags gold in Stevie Awards

Premier Quadruple A developer DMCI Homes has gained international recognition for its innovative website www.dmcihomes.com, winning the Gold Award in the Innovation in Business Information or Application Websites category of the sixth annual Asia-Pacific Stevie® Awards.

The Asia-Pacific Stevie® Awards, the only awards program to recognize innovation in business throughout the entire Asia-Pacific region, commended DMCI Homes for its website innovations, which were geared to improve user experience.

More than its enhanced design, engaging content, and interactive features, judges cited the easy access of information by users as a key element of the website as it is seen to benefit the business in the long run by attracting more visitors to the portal.

“We are honored and grateful for this award as we see it as not only a recognition of the quality of our digital marketing work but more importantly an acknowledgment of our company’s continuing effort to enhance our services to our customers,” DMCI Homes Digital Unit Head Fritz Geremia said.

The redesigned website was launched in March this year to address the needs and concerns of both property hunters and unit owners.

DMCI Homes restructured its website by using the behavior of visitors, enhanced tools, and intuitive search functions to promote a more engaging user experience.

These features include a virtually live unit availability summary which gives users an idea on the current available units.

Geography-based targeting campaigns, meanwhile, show properties to visitors based on their preferred or current location.

Likewise, the Compare Properties feature has been further enhanced by allowing users to compare available units so they can choose the one that is the best fit for their needs.
