“We are very happy to announce that we are going to have titles from Regal and VIVA released in 2016 first and exclusive,” Jane Cruz-Walker, country manager of HOOQ Philippines told Manila Standard at the latest HOOQ Hangouts held last week at the Globe Iconic Store in BGC.

“We will also be adding a lot of the latest TV shows to our catalog, and of course we are very excited to release the very first series exclusively produced for VOD– Erik Matti’s On The Job: The Missing 8.”

OTJ the series is co-produced  by Reality Entertainment and  Globe Live, and stars Bela Padilla, Christopher De Leon, Arjo Atayde, Teroy Guzman, Leo Martinez and an ensemble cast.

To give subscribers a taste of what they can expect this year, HOOQ welcomed the arrival of the Year of the Fire Rooster with a free screening of Mano Po 7: Chinoy. Richard Yap and Jean Garcia made a surprise appearance to hangout with HOOQ fans and enjoy the outdoor screening event.

“We chose Mano Po 7 for this month’s HOOQ Hangouts not only to celebrate the Chinese New Year but also to emphasize that HOOQ will be the first to have the newest local movies after their theatrical run,” says Cruz-Walker.

Released just a week before the Metro Manila Film Festival,  Mano Po 7: Chinoy features a star-studded ensemble cast led by Yap, Jessy Mendiola, Enchong Dee and Jake Cuenca. It also stars, apart from Garcia, Eric Quizon, Kean Cipriano, Janella Salvador and Marlo Mortel. The film is fresh from it’s theatrical release in December last year.

Saturday nights are bound to get outrageously and hilariously better as GMA Network launches its newest comedy-musical show, Full House Tonight, with Regine Velasquez-Alcasid who said she is ecstatic to host a comedy-musical show, more so because she is performing and singing on the small screen again.

Regine Velasquez host comedy-musical show "Full House Tonight"

“I’m of course very excited and very thankful that GMA has given me this kind of show kasi medyo na miss ko na yung variety show. At least dito kumakanta ako ulit, hindi lang yun, nagko-comedy rin, ‘tsaka binibigyan din naman ako ng freedom to choose the songs,” the multi-awarded artist happily shared.

This features a twist in the usual comedy show with onstage musical performances from guests, riotous stand-up comedy, improvisation, parodies, and sketches inside and outside the studio that will surely give Kapuso viewers a different kind of entertainment experience.

“It’s actually harder to make people laugh than to make them cry, so medyo may kaba kaming lahat pero it’s mostly exciting for all of us,” Regine adds. “But I’m sure the viewers will love it and have fun watching every episode.”

Adding flavor to the program are Kapuso stars Solenn Heussaff and teen idols Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix, together with versatile artist Joross Gamboa. A host of other comedians, mostly cross-dressing males, are also in the show.
