How Piolo Pascual deals with scandalous rumors

For Piolo Pascual, rumors are just like the weekly Friday traffic—an inevitable part of life that you just have to learn to accept and deal with.

Just recently, the Kapamilya hunk was again involved in an alleged scandalous video with Luis Manzano. Manzano was on Facebook Live while inside the dressing room of their noontime variety show ASAP. The video became viral because of the misleading caption of being a “gay scandal.” In reality, however, Piolo was simply getting dressed for his production number while Luis was streaming on his FB profile.

LESSON LEARNED. Piolo Pascual talks about the latest issue he got into and how he handles them whenever they happen.

So instead of being affected by the news, the 39-year-old actor chose to take a break from his hectic shooting schedule and just chill out with his fans at the HOOQ Hangouts.

Manila Standard had a few minutes with Piolo to say his piece, “That’s the first time I experienced that kind of issue. Hindi ko alam na ganun pala ang Facebook Live so I learned my lesson. I guess I was too uncensored when I did it sa dressing room namin. Hindi ko alam na ina-upload pala yun. So ayun okay lang, charge it to experience. But ‘pag mga ganun kasi you upload it and hindi mo na maaalis sa YouTube yun. What people see there, you know that’s the real thing. Yun ang uso eh. Just for the sake of your viewers di ba?”

Piolo also admitted that he doesn’t even have his own Facebook account. “Wala nga akong Facebook. Doon ko nga lang nalaman yung Faceook Live. I have no idea kung ano yung mga comments. It was on Luis’s account so kung meron mang mga nagsalita dun ng kung anu-ano, mas maganda na yung hindi ko alam di ba?” he added.

The special outdoor screening featured the Piolo and Angelica Panganiban starrer Every Breathe U Take and was part #LovePinoy theme of the second HOOQ Hangouts. The event, held on Sept. 24 at the Globe Iconic Store at Bonifacio Global City, was held to showcase HOOQs vast archive of Filipino Films.

As for the chance to hangout with his fans, Piolo said he is very thankful for the opportunity, “I’m really thankful because it’s not often that I get to do this stuff.  “These days, people are into mobile. They get to access it and watch it any time. Times are changing so you got to adapt. It’s nice of HOOQ to do this kasi ibang klase talaga yung experience. I only found out that they have such an extensive library that includes content from Star Cinema also and ABS-CBN and a lot of my movies. They already have OTJ and Milan as well so we have the more reasons for people to watch what we have to offer them. Masaya lang kasi nowadays mas konti yung attention span ng tao. So at least whenever they want to watch it you have it for them,” he states.

Piolo also revealed that he also loves to binge watch different TV series when he has free time. “I’m always out so kapag nasa bahay ako tulog na lang. So siyempre mas maganda na you can watch your favorite movies and TV shows whenever you have the chance. You get to watch new materials, new shows. Siguro dun na din tayo pupunta,” he added.
