Asked about Regine Velasquez’s possible transfer to ABS-CBN, Julie Anne San Jose said she was not aware if there’s any truth to the rumor but she would still give her all-out support to the songbird whether or not she’s making that big decision.
“Honestly, I don’t know what to say. In the first place, I’m not certain if the rumors are true. Whether it’s true or not, it’s only Ate Reg who can answer that. I’m just here for her no matter what. Whatever decision she makes, I’ll just support her.”
It’s no secret that she idolizes Asia’s Songbird.
“Since the start, I’ve always looked up to her. I admire her talent and humility. Despite her achievements, her feet remain planted on the ground. She’s like a big sister to me.
“If ever it’s true that she’s going to transfer, of course, I’ll be sad. We won’t be able to sing together in production numbers anymore. In rare events perhaps. But as long as she’ll be happy, I will support her!”
With this development, many say that she’ll eventually take Regine’s place in GMA as one of its premiere singers. Any reaction?
“Honestly, I don’t think about it. It’s far from my mind. I’m not expecting. All I want to do is share and express my singing talent in order to entertain the public,” avers Julie Ann.

Katrina Halili reveals that in her next soap opera, she wishes to be the antagonist of Jennylyn Mercado who is her batch mate in the maiden season of StarStruck.
“That’s right!” she says. “It’s only Jen among the premiere Kapuso leading ladies who hasn’t experienced my villainy on screen. Ha-ha-ha! I think it’s about time that we do a soap together. For sure, the public will like our fresh combination.”
Actually, it won’t be the first time if ever that they’ll be working together on a project.
“Remember the GMA soap Forever in My Heart in 2004 which was top-billed by Richard (Gomez), Ariel (Rivera) and Regine (Velasquez)? Jen and I were cast to be part of the show. That was our first major program after StarStruck. I wasn’t a full-blown ‘contravida’ yet during those times.
“If you’ll remember, she and Mark (Herras) were already a love team then. In the story, I was the third party who wanted to ruin their relationship. After that, we haven’t worked together for a long period of time.”
Since that time, Kat established herself as one of the Kapuso’s leading screen villainesses.
She has played antagonist to a number of GMA female leads like Marian Rivera in MariMar, My Beloved and Darna, Angel Locsin in Majika, Iza Calzado in Beauty Queen, Heart Evangelista in Langit sa Piling Mo, Carla Abellana in Rosalinda, Rhian Ramos in The Rich Man’s Daughter, Kylie Padilla in Adarna, Yasmien Kurdi in Sa Piling ni Nanay, and Megan Young in The Stepdaughters.
“Even with Ken Chan, I was his ‘contravida’ in Destiny Rose. The same with Ms. Jaclyn Jose in D’ Originals and Tita Gloria Romero in Munting Heredera. So you see, it’s only Jennylyn, right? I really hope GMA would give us a project together soon. But it should be a good material since it will be a reunion project for us.”
On the lighter side, the seductive actress plans to take a short break once her currently airing afternoon soap “The Stepdaughters” wraps up.
“Yes! I want to take a vacation to recharge my batteries, so to speak before I start on a new project. I want to have quality bonding time with my daughter Katie. Since I got busy taping for the soap, I’m always in a hurry and goes home late. This time though, I want to enjoy my time with my daughter,” ends Katrina.
