According to Kris Bernal, there’s no truth to the rumor that she is soon quitting show business and just concentrate on her business.
In a recent interview, the actress said it’s not true and that as long as she’s being offered with projects, she’d continue working.
“I just want to have other things to do apart from showbiz that’s why I venture into business. I mean, it’s crazy to do showbiz 24/7, right? You have to have other diversions and for me, it’s business,” she says.
Maturity gradually becomes her.
“I’m 29 already. I’m not that young anymore to be a robot in the business and listen to what others tell me. I have my own decisions now and it’s good because my life has directions, right?”
As long as GMA is still giving her assignments, the petite star promises she’ll continue acting.
“In fact, I have an upcoming show opposite Thea Tolentino. It has an interesting plot in which my former husband will become my rival. My leading man here is a former talent of the other network who switched to being a Kapuso. I’m sure viewers will be intrigued by our latest offering so they better watch out for it.”
Speaking of a partner, Kris reveals she’s not getting married anytime soon.
“I’m still saving. Even if I have a little money and business already, I feel it’s not yet time. I’m planning it after three years. At this point, I would like to take advantage of the fact that I can use myself to market my business,” she states.

It’s the first time that Cherry Pie Picache will be working with Maine Mendoza in the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Jack en Poy: The Pulis Incredibles topbilled by Vic Sotto and Coco Martin and she only has good words for the Kapuso star.
“That’s right,” she avers. “I’ve worked with Bossing and Coco many times already but with Maine, it’s my first time. Surprisingly, contrary to her comic and cheerful side on screen, I find her very quiet off cam. You wouldn’t believe that she’s the jolly girl seen every day on ‘Eat Bulaga.’ As I’ve said, she’s just quiet.”
They met during the recent story conference of the movie.
“That’s the first time that I’ve met her personally. I haven’t really had the chance to talk to her, but with the little time given to us, it was a nice experience. Maine is such a pleasant lady and I’m glad to have the opportunity to work with her on this project.”
The award-winning character actress is grateful as well to be part of the movie.
“But of course! Who wouldn’t be? Apart from Maine, it’s with Coco and Bossing. It’s a great opportunity to be working with people you love to work with. Work becomes fun and enjoyable. There’s no dull moment.”
Cherry Pie is aware that their film faces stiff competition from other equally interesting entries particularly Vice Ganda’s Fantastica: The Princess, The Prince and The Perya.
“Oh, I know! This early, many are already pitting the two movies against each other. I believe it will be a constructive and positive competition if ever. The annual film fest is a very lucrative avenue and a perfect time to showcase nice Filipino movies. This forthcoming edition of the MMFF is no exception.
“I’m certain that it’s the primary intention of each of the entries to entertain the viewers. Of course, to do well at the box-office is there already but first and foremost, it’s for the enjoyment of local film buffs. They’re really the star of the festival. So I’m praying and hoping that all entries this year will score big at the tills,” ends Cherry Pie.
