Alden now a better actor

Alden Richards is both happy and grateful to have recently attended an acting workshop under the helm of Anthony Vincent Bova, a renowned acting coach from New York.

“I’m thankful that GMA organized this workshop. It made me love my craft more,” says the Pambansang Bae.

It’s been three years since Alden attended an acting workshop. Now, he sees acting in a much deeper and different perspective.

“I thought I could act based on what I heard from fans. I felt there’s no need to attend workshops anymore. But upon attending Mr. Bova’s workshop, my views changed,” Alden admitted.

Also, Alden realized he has got a long way to go. It dawned upon him that what he knew about acting was just a speck, so to speak.

“Truth is, there’s still a lot to learn on how to become a more effective performer on screen. You know, because of this acting workshop, I’m more excited to work and apply what I’ve learned. It’s just fulfilling,” he says.

So, he’s more than prepared for his next big prime time project.

“Yes, if ever it pushes through!” Alden states. “But of course, it’s not enough still. As they say, acting is a never-ending learning process.

Practice makes perfect, right?”

That’s the reason why he is taking the opportunity to attend a two-day workshop when he flies to the ‘Sikat Ka, Kapuso’ show in America and Canada on April 7 and 8 with other GMA stars like Dingdong Dantes, Jennylyn Mercado, Lovi Poe and Dennis Trillo. He will enroll under Eric Morris, a Los Angeles based actor and teacher.

Interestingly, what’s his dream role?

“I’m not particular about it. What would matter is how I’ll interpret it. It’s like when you’re given ingredients to cook spaghetti, it would depend on your technique on how to make it taste better. Now, I’m more after the impact my acting will have on the viewers. It’s up to me to make the variations and not make my acting one-dimensional. I’ve learned many techniques in the workshop and I feel challenged to apply them soon,” ends Alden.

According to Katrina Halili, she and Kris Lawrence are presently in good terms especially when talking about their parental responsibilities to their daughter, Katrence.

“Past is past,” she avers. “It’s been four years since we broke up. But we remained civil with each other as we have both moved on. We have our own lives to live now.”

Does Kris have a new love?

“I guess so. It’s just fine with me. He can find his own happiness. We should’ve learned from our past mistakes and make them a strong motivation to go on living,” she says.

On her part, the Stepdaughters mainstay admits she is not in a hurry to jump into a new relationship.

“I enjoy my being single at the moment. No complications. I believe that love will come to me at the right time,” ends Katrina.
