Yassi thinks bashers in showbiz is normal

Yassi Pressman is aware that, with her current rise as one of the hottest young female stars in the ‘biz, having bashers is just normal.

“In this age of the social media, the presence of bashers is part of the whole package, so to speak. Whether you’re in show business or in any other field, there will always be people who would really air their dislike on you. We can’t do anything about it. Sometimes, I get affected but most of the time, I just ignore them,” she avers.

Since she became the leading lady of Coco Martin in the hit soap opera FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, it became noticeable that her bashers mushroomed, prompting many to think these people want her out of the show. Some say these bashers could possibly be supporters of Coco and Julia Montes (who is being linked to Coco). Given this scenario, did she have a conscious effort to start avoiding Coco on the set of the show?

“Not really. Coco and I are friends and we’re together almost every day. It’s inevitable that we talk specially that we do a lot of scenes together.”

Many are curious if the be-dimpled lad is sweet to her.

“I think he is basically sweet,” reveals Yassi. “Not only with me but with everyone on the set. He is caring even with the staff and crew that’s why he’s well-loved.”

Many were surprised when Yassy wasn’t picked as Coco’s leading lady in the grand action-fantasy potboiler Ang Panday, which is an official entry to this year’s edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival. Considering their chemistry and popularity with the viewers because of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, the production chose 2017 Bb. Pilipinas International Mariel de Leon instead.

“Honestly, I didn’t expect. I’m not in the position in the first place. I know that many of our fellow stars in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano are in the cast of the movie. But as I’ve said, it’s not my nature to expect. As for me, I’m excited to watch the film.”

Despite talks linking her with Coco, Yassi maintains her love life is zero.

“That’s right! First and foremost, I don’t have the time due to my hectic workload. In fact, I seldom see my family these days. I tape from Monday to Saturday.”

Doesn’t she miss having a special someone by her side to inspire her?

“Well, I’m full of love. Ha-ha-ha! I think that will do for now. Let’s see in the coming days,” ends Yassi.

Derrick Monasterio just laughs off the reaction to the news hat Bea Binene “friend-zoned” him considering that they’ve been a love team for quite some time now but romance is yet to blossom between them.

“Ha-ha-ha! I don’t want to comment on that friend-zone angle. It doesn’t necessarily follow that because you’re a screen pair, you have to be in a relationship. But of course, you don’t know what the future holds, right? It’s better to adopt the wait-and-see attitude,” states Derrick.

Does she consider Bea a girlfriend material?

“Yes she is! For one, she has many endearing qualities. Perhaps, my mind is not set on that at this point. My priority is my job. I’ve lots of assignments to attend to so I want to strike while the iron is hot.”

It can be remembered that he was romantically linked with his former screen partner Barbie Forteza before. His followers want to know if they become real-life sweethearts during those times.

“Nope! We didn’t become an item then but I courted her. She just didn’t answer me. Ha-ha-ha! We were still so young then,” says Derrick.
