Davaoeña tops Mutya Pilipinas 2019

A pair of homegrown beauties and two from overseas were named winners at the 51st Mutya Pilipinas during the Grand Coronation Night held Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena, hosted by actor Matteo Guidicelli with delayed telecast on ABS-CBN.

Klyza Castro, a 19-year-old native of Davao del Sur, and April May Short, a 24-year-old accountant and native of Zamboanga City, were crowned Mutya Pilipinas Asia Pacific International 2019 and Mutya Pilipinas World Top Model Philippines 2019, respectively. 

Short, a semi-finalist in Bb. Pilipinas 2019, will vie at the World Top Model International 2019 in Monte Carlo, Principality of Monaco on Dec. 14. 

Tyra Goldman, 18, from Nevada, USA, and Louise Janica An, 24, born and raised in Naga City before migrating in California, USA in 2007, and now a student at California State University—Northridge in Civil Engineering, were named Mutya Pilipinas Tourism International 2019 and Mutya Pilipinas Overseas Communities 2019, respectively.

Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga and Maxinne Nicole Rangel of Padre Garcia, Batangas were named first and second runners-up, respectively. Payumo won Best in Evening Gown while Rangel won Best in Swimsuit and the People’s Choice special award.

Other special awardees were Lady Justerinnie Santos, Miss Photogenic; Maricres Castro, Miss Friendship; and Irish Silades, Best in Talent.

The Top 12 were Lesley Anne Ticaro, Dionne Sade’ Nicha, Andrea Fe Gomez, Keinth Jensen Petrasanta, Ysabel Napiza, and Karla Claudine Lasquite. Rounding out the Top 20 were made which included – Mariah Gelina Lequin, Ella Cayabyab, Andrea Acibo, Nina Angeli Bernedo, Irish Silades, Jigg Kirsty Ang, Maria Angelica Pantaliano, and Camille Maha Marie Fabro.

The board of judges included 1979 Miss International Melanie Marquez, fomer Pasig City mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubinao, Philippine Ambassador to Monaco Fortune Ledesma, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koji Haneda, and Panamanian Ambassador to the Philippines Rolando Guevarra Panamian.
