GMA Network has welcomed a versatile actor to its roster of talents, renewed its contract with a talented actress and TV host, and strengthened  its partnership with the country’s most watched and longest running noontime show.

TAPE Inc. and GMA Network officially sealed the renewal of their blocktime agreement for the airing of hit noontime show, Eat Bulaga, in a contract signing held on Feb. 1.

“It’s our 24th year in GMA,” said TAPE Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Antonio P. Tuviera. “We’re thankful to them for giving us a home where we can also celebrate our 40th anniversary this year.”

The Eat Bulaga Dabarkads—Senator Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey De Leon, Jimmy Santos, Anjo Yllana, Ruby Rodriguez, Allan K., Pauleen Luna-Sotto, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Ryan Agoncillo, Pia Guanio, Luanne Dy, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Baeby Baste, Maureen Wroblewitz, Maine Mendoza, and Alden Richards together with TAPE Inc.’s SVP and COO Malou Choa-Fagar, SVP Production Creative and Operations Jenny P. Ferre, AVP Production Helen Atienza-Dela Cruz, AVP Production-Studio Operation Sheila Macariola-Ilacad, Director Poochie Rivera – came in full force to witness yet another momentous event.

GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon expressed his admiration for the show and its hosts, “I admire the people behind the show including the tandem of Tito, Vic and Joey and the other cast members. They are the reason why the show has lasted this long.”

Meanwhile, GMA Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong is happy for Eat Bulaga’s continued success.  

“It’s an exciting show, it’s the longest continuous running show in the world with the original hosts. We’re very happy that they continue to be with the Kapuso Network,” he shared.

Also present during the contract signing were GMA’s First Vice President for Program Management Jose Mari R. Abacan, and Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angela Javier Cruz.

New Talent

GMA Artist Center welcomed EA Guzman to its roster of talents as he inked a management contract on Jan. 31.

EA started his showbiz career in Eat Bulaga where he won the “Mr. Pogi” tilt in 2006. The actor is filled with gratitude as he officially joins the Kapuso Network.

 “I started my career here in GMA. I’m glad that as soon as I set foot on the their ground, I started feeling their care and support. I’m proud to say na Kapuso ako.”

 Kapuso viewers should look forward seeing his comeback on television via the upcoming GMA Afternoon Prime fantasy series Dragon Lady alongside Janine Gutierrez and Tom Rodriguez.

 GMA Entertainment Group Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable expressed her gladness to have EA in the network.

 “We are very happy that EA has chosen to put his trust in GMA and GMA Artist Center. He is an award-winning actor that’s why we’re happy to have him in our stable of talents.”

 Also present in the contract signing were GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, Senior Talent Manager Daryl Zamora, and EA’s co-manager Arnold Vegafria.

A decade of partnership

Carla Abellana is looking forward to start a new journey as a Kapuso as she renewed her exclusive contract with GMA Network, Inc. also on Jan. 31.

Carla became emotional because she considers her contract renewal one of her life’s blessings.

“I’m very happy. It’s my 10th year in show business and in GMA. To say that I’m happy and grateful that they trusted me again is an understatement. Imagine 10 years in the industry and in GMA, so happy that they have given me another opportunity,” she mused.

The actress is one of the Kapuso station’s home-grown artists. Carla has portrayed memorable roles in various programs such as Rosalinda, Basahang Ginto, Magic Palayok, Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit, Makapiling Kang Muli, My Husband’s Lover, Ismol Family, My Destiny, Because of You, I Heart Davao and Pamilya Roces.

Present in the contract signing were GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA Vice President for Drama Productions Redgie Acuña Magno, Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara and Arnold Vegafria, Carla’s manager.

During the contract signing held at the Boardroom of GMA Network, Atty. Gozon expressed his genuine support for Carla, “We are extremely happy that Carla renewed her contract with us. Marami tayong pinaplano kay Carla. We are very thankful.”
