It started as an inspiration and ended up as a song.
“The similarity with me and Marija is how we started, our background. We were joking that if we wanted to buy branded things, kaya na namin, dahil sa hardwork we can afford these products, and not as gifts from a man, with our hard earned money,” says Brazilian actress, TV host, performer, endorser Daiana Menezes, who recorded the song titled “Syanel.”
Marija Debelic is a Croatian model and singer, TOP 12 Most Beautiful Women of Croatia 2014.
Composed by Georges Lim, “Syanel” is the story of women who empower each other and build each other up because they made it on their own without the help of anyone to back them up.
Daiana and Marija have been performing “Syanel” and other hits in music festivals and well-known clubs in the Philippines such as Futureland Music Fest in SM Mall of Asia, Cove, Okada, and other venues.
“In the very near future I plan to launch an album. For now, I got a new single, and we enjoy performing in gigs.Tuloy-tuloy na ito,” adds the the “Brazilipina,” who is also a graduate of the New York Film Academy.
Daiana has always loved singing. Her 10 years experience as a tv and events host, as well as being a mainstay at GMA’s SOP have taught her a lot of lessons in performing. Back then, Daiana even had a girl group and she recorded the theme song of All About Eve, a Korean drama aired in the Philippines starring Iza Calzado and Sunshine Dizon.
“I was trained to just get out there and sing my heart out. And of course I took lessons and I’ve been doing it for the past 11 years. I enjoy performing. I’m not a birit queen, I have a naturally husky Bossa Nova chill voice, and I like pop songs and feel-good music. No pressure, just fun,” adds Daiana, the self-confessed “Karaoke” master.
Daiana’s music idols include American rapper, songwriter and television personality Cardi B, Brazilian singer, songwriter, actress, dancer and businesswoman Anitta, and American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and dancer Bruno Mars.
Daiana, who is also an international endorser, painter, pianist, performer, and designer, wants to make more music and produce her own shows this coming 2019. With her hard work and talent, she can definitely afford Chanel and a whole lot more.
