Octogenarian Lynn Ruth Miller is hauling her creaking bones and her bag of funny tricks for a two-day Manila show on Oct.18 and 19.

Regarded as the world’s oldest female comedian, Miller is an Ohio-born funny woman who brings with her laughs about her advanced age and how sex is like at 85.

“I make aging sound like it’s fun,” Lynn says of her brand of comedy.

World's Oldest Comedian Lynn Ruth Miller is staging a two-day show where she talks about the benefit of getting old and being a comedian with a pension.

Dubbed the new Joan Rivers of Fringe Comedy at The Edinburgh International Fringe, Lynn is a regular at the San Francisco Punchline, The Stand in Scotland and The International in Dublin and is now chomping at the bit ready now to do her storytelling, cabaret and stand-up comedy throughout the world to prove that her aging has been amazing.

She started her comedy career at 71. She made it to Las Vegas in America’s Got Talent in 2008, won People’s Choice in 2009 Branson Comedy Festival, the finals in Bill Word’s Funniest

Female Contest 2009 and semi-finals in the SF International Comedy Competition, the top 100 in Britain’s Got Talent and won both nights of the Texas Burlesque Festival without taking off anything that matters.

She was the 2013 TO&ST winner for Granny’s Gone Wild: best cabaret Edinburgh Fringe. That show was performed at the Soho Theatre in London in March 2014. In August, she performed her fourth solo show Not Yet Dead, a compilation of stories and songs about her life directed by Sarah Louise Young with songs written by Young and Michael Roulston to 4 and 5 star reviews.

Now, for her first time in Manila, Lynn is treating Filipinos to two shows aptly called Aged to Imperfection (Oct. 18) and Barely Standing (Oct. 19).

“I’m hoping to make everyone laugh,” she says, as if it was any doubt that the woman who throws incontinence pads at the audience and makes jokes about the joys of aging (“There are many joys to aging, for example, I wake up in the morning”) could be anything but hilarious.

“There’s no more PMS. When I tell you I’m going kill you, I mean it!” she jokes.

Join Prime i Events and Lynn Ruth Miller and don’t miss the chance watching a woman who’s barely standing crack jokes about her life, her age and everything in between.
