Benjie Paras, kids grace Father’s Day event at the Araneta Center

Known for their hard work and sacrifice to provide for their families, fathers finally get a much deserve downtime and recognition in Araneta Center’s Father’s Day celebration on Sunday. 

Dubbed as “Dads on the Go,” the event will be a whole afternoon of fun activities for fathers and their families, with no less than actor and PBA legend Benjie Paras as the special guest. 

The father of rising basketball stars Andre and Kobe, Benjie has carved a niche playing father roles in TV and movie projects such as Wansapanataym: That’s My Toy, That’s My Boy, Nathaniel, Wang Fam, and Got to Believe.

He will be bringing along his younger kids Sam and Riley to play with the daddy participants and their children at the Gateway Mall activity area starting at 1:00 p.m.

Fun games such as dart football and relay will also be held simultaneously in the activity areas of Farmers Plaza and Ali Mall.

Benjie Paras is the special guest in Araneta Center's Father's Day program, which hosts a series of activities for the whole family.

A minimum of P700 single-purchase receipt will entitle a father and his kid to join in these activities and win exciting prizes such as shoes and sports gear.   

Be a Hero on Father’s Day

Fathers, mothers, and even their children can also exercise their way to helping young scholars in Araneta Center and J. Amado Araneta Foundation’s (JAAF) “We Row For HERO” at the Gateway Mall activity area tomorrow.

From 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., a rowing machine will be available for 150 volunteers to use for one minute. Each minute corresponds to the money Araneta Center and JAAF will be donating to HERO (Help Educate and Rear Orphans) Foundation. 

HERO has been providing educational assistance to children of fallen soldiers since 1988. Since then, the organization has already supported the schooling of more than 2,000 kids with the help of its partners like JAAF. 

A number of its new scholars this year are children of soldiers who fought terrorists in Marawi last year. 

Volunteers in this event will also get gift certificates from Anytime Fitness.
