Six years ago, Julie Anne San Jose released her eponymous debut album, which eventually became one of the best-selling records in the recent history.

The album, which was released six months after she signed an exclusive contract with GMA Records in 2012, received a Diamond Record Award from the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) for selling it sold more than 150,000 units. Meanwhile, its carrier single, “I’ll Be There”, used as an original theme song for the ‘tagalized’ version of the Korean Drama Lie To Me, was also certified Quadruple Platinum.

This year, the 24-year-old singer-actress is optimistic that her fans would give her the same support as she is bound to release an Extended Play by the end of the month.

Julie Anne clarifies though that her goal is not necessarily for the record to be as successful as the previous ones she has released. She wanted her supporters and other music consumers to appreciate her artistry and recognize her as a mature musician. This goal complements her activities in the past few months and her other plans leading to the release of the EP.

Last month, she had a back-to-back surprise for her fans. Julie graced the last print cover of n magazine, where she bares all her thoughts on her new music, her inspirations, and plans on her future.

ON A ROLL. Multi-platinum recording artist and TV actress Julie Anne San Jose has lined up a few treats for her fans and supporters both on TV and on concert stage.

Also in May, the daytime drama My Guitar Princess was also launched. She stars in the series as Celina, an aspiring singer who hides her identity in order to reach her dreams. My Guitar Princess sees her first onscreen pairing with rising matinee idols Gil Cuerva and Kiko Estrada.

“I am just happy that I can still do all the things I love and I am given the opportunity to explore other facets of my career. My goal is to make people happy by reinventing myself. I want to do new stuff. I love my job and my craft so much. Ever since, it’s all about my passion, and of course my music, which is my territory,” she told the entertainment media during a recent pocket press conference.

On May 17, she celebrated her birthday with her closest friends and family. She also prepared a birthday performance in Sunday PinaSaya, where she was cheered on by her closest showbiz friends.

In a prior interview, Julie shared how thankful she is for the overwhelming reception of her most recent single “Nothing Left,” the first single off her upcoming EP.

Following this, fans will have another single to look forward to this month as she releases “Tayong Dalawa,” her third single under Universal Records.

On Thursday she will fly to Dubai with Regine Velasquez and Christian Bautista for the international leg of their 3 Stars, 1 Heart concert happening on June 16 at Dubai World Trade Center.
