All eyes are now on two Miss World Philippines 2017 titlists as they get ready to compete in their respective international competitions scheduled for this coming November.
Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann is in China now and will tour the country from Guangzhou. The much-awaited Miss World 2017 coronation night will be held on Nov. 18 at the Sanya City Arena.
With her modeling and TV hosting experience as well as her athletic prowess, Laura feels confident about hurdling the pageant’s various fast track challenges, as well as making a difference with her Beauty With A Purpose advocacy presentation. She is equally excited about her “Cariñosa” Filipiniana dance presentation for the Dances of the World segment.
Laura appeals to her Filipinos to vote for her for the Talent and Multimedia challenges, where online votes play a crucial role in ensuring her victory. Fans may download the Mobstar app, search for her name, and swipe right to vote.
Meanwhile, Winwyn Marquez, the first Asian contestant to join the Miss Reina Hispanoamericana pageant, left on Oct. 19 via New York, then Panama City, en route to Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Aside from visiting the Bolivian capital of La Paz, Winwyn is also scheduled to have guest appearances where she and other Miss World hopefuls will showcase their talent.
The Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 coronation night will be held on Nov. 4 at the Salon Siriono dela Feria Exposición in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
Avid pageant watchers are wondering. Will Laura replicate Megan Young’s historic win? Or how will Winwyn fare as she marks the country’s debut participation in the hotly contested Reina Hispanoamericano pageant?
Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria believes that Laura and Winwyn both have what it takes to sustain the Filipina’s winning streak on the global pageant scene.
“This is the era of the Filipina beauty, and everyone can see Laura and Winwyn’s winning attitude. They’re both very articulate and outspoken, they’re very mindful of their unique cultural heritage, but more than that, they’re both driven with their own burning passions for their own noble advocacies, which are crucial towards making a better impact among the judges,” Vegafria asserts.
The Miss World Philippines organization has been working with the girls double-time since their coronation last Sept. 3, ensuring that all their logistical requirements (wardrobe, costume, gowns, etc.) and performance levels (talent, Q&A, walk) are up to par with global standards.
Vegafria adds, “It’s been a stressful month of preparations, but it’s all worth it. We’ve been blessed with great mentors and trainers, supportive sponsors, very inspiring and encouraging beauty queen colleagues, but more than that, it’s really the girls’ never-say-die attitude that drives them to always do their best at whatever challenge is given them. I’m confident that they will wave the Filipino flag proudly wherever they go.”
Vegafria also expresses his gratitude to the glam teams who worked their magic on the two queens. Laura’s glam team is headed by renowned designer Mark Bumgarner; make-up artist Albert Kurniawan; hair stylist Paul Nebres, stylist Kat Cruz; designer Bessie Besana for her national costume; and video producer Ronald Rillo.
Winwyn’s glam team is headed by Dubai-based international designer and renowned designer to the Hollywood stars Ezra Santos; also, designers Mak Tumang and Francis Libiran; costume by Edwin Uy; stylist John Paul Dizon, make-up artists Tong Niu and Renz Pangilinan; and video producer PJ Calingo.
