It’s going to be a clash of the sexiest as GMA Network’s primetime drama-action series Alyas Robin Hood returns on the boob tube. Still featuring Dingdong Dantes in the title role, the series will have Andrea Torres reprising her role as Venus and Solenn Heussaff joining the cast to play an important role.
In July, Solenn took to Instagram to confirm her inclusion in the primetime drama. In a photo she shared with her 3.5 million followers, the French-Filipino beauty expressed her excitement to work with Dominic Zapata, who is currently the head director for Mulawin vs. Ravena.
“Here we go. Can’t wait to work with director Dominic Zapata again, and all these talented people,” her caption for the socmed post.
In the series, Solenn plays Iris Lizeralde, described as the rich high-society “it girl” who will also fall in love with Robin Hood. In an interview with 24 Oras, Solenn explained that she couldn’t reveal what her character is going to be just yet but promised that her character will give Venus (Andrea) a run for her money.
“I’m going to have some fight scenes. I can only tell so much about my character but Iris and Venus will fight for the love of Pepe (Dingdong),” she divulged adding that her character will add color and spice to the action drama.
Solenn and Andrea have been friends for a long time. They’ve been together in numerous projects, but it is the first time that they’re acting together in a television project.
“We had her in one of the episodes of Taste Buddies and in Sunday All Stars. But this is the first time we are going to be together in a TV series. That’s why I’m very excited to do this project,” she said.
Since Solenn is going to have a lot of fight scenes in Alyas Robin Hood’s second installment, the 32-year-old host-actress has been focusing on how she can meet the physical demands of her character.
Apart from looking gorgeous on the small screen, she needs to showcase exceptional agility so she’s currently on a rigorous physical training to prepare for action stunts, which she plans to do sans any double.
“I run for 10 kilometers a day, and I do biking. I also have an app on my phone that helps me tone my arms and legs,” Solenn shared.
Alyas Robin Hood’s first season ended its 23-week run on Feb. 24 with a total of 115 episodes, and was replaced by Destined to be Yours. The series second season is premiering tomorrow replacing the local adaptation of My Love from the Star.
In a statement from GMA Network it says that the season 2 is all set to bring viewers twice the action, drama, romance and comedy (and double the sexiness with Solenn and Andrea around). And with the much-anticipated sequel comes a new battle cry: That even heroes fall, but only those who rise from the ashes are the ones that are able to make a difference and save the world.
