A second look at Roxanne Barcelo

Like many actors of her generation, Roxanne Barcelo fully embraced her sexy side when she landed on the inside pages of a popular men’s magazine a few years ago. Amid being brought up by a conservative family and in the watchful eyes of nuns during high school and college, the former PBB housemate is on a mission to satisfy every boy’s fantasies.

Roxanne, who went by the name Roxee B to introduce her career reinvention in 2014, had faced a few struggles in the competitive world of showbiz.

Roxee started her showbiz career as one of the contestants in GMA’s Metropop Search. Then in 1999, she became a mainstay in the GMA’s then top-rated youth oriented show, Click. She also appeared in the television drama series Kahit Kailan and Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga, and was a regular host of on SOP and guest-starred in several GMA shows.

While her TV career in limbo, she channeled her burning passion through electronica hip-hop and the culinary arts. She honed her skills in music and endeavored to make a name in the industry while she’s still finding ways on how to re-launch her acting career. In short, she didn’t to give up and she’s glad about that decision.

And just like how FHM Philippines puts it, “If you want a sincere showbiz success story that is a product of perseverance and persistence, hers should be a fine example.”

“That’s how I feel now. I’ll tell you the truth, every time I felt like quitting, something good would come along. This industry can break you. It broke me several times,” Roxanne admits. “Dreams are constantly shut down in this industry, and if you let it get to you it can really break you. I even broke down when I was in PBB, and people saw that. I don’t regret that they saw that.”

Wildflower cast member Roxanne is the newest cover girl of popular men’s magazine. FHM on Monday unveiled its June 2017 cover on its official Instagram account, starring the sultry actress.

“Roxanne Barcelo’s FHM cover debut is nothing short of liberating for the entertainer. Not only has she survived and thrived in the industry, but she’s done so with a steady and constant evolution. Gents, your new cover muse for the month of June!” FHM said.

Barcelo graced the cover of FHM in 2014 under her then-stage name Roxee B. She was also a “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate in 2006.
