Rodeo country charmers crowned

Masbate, the Rodeo Capital of the Philippines, recently crowned its ambassadresses of tourism of goodwill in the second Miss Masbate pageant as part of the 24th Rodeo Masbateño Festival.

Topping the revitalized beauty and talent search is Vanna Vefsie Discaya who represented the Municipality of Uson, followed by Rose Marie Barrun of Placer and Rochelle Lagamayo of Monreal

Other pageant judges included internet and TV celebrity “King of Catwalk” Sinon Loresca, Asean Youth Leaders Association President Neil Soria, Masbate Board Member Lovely Abapo; Provincial Accountant Glenda Escauriaga, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Rany Sia, National Movement for Young Leaders former president Kirk Asis.

Last year’s crown was won by 17-year old Kirsten “Kisses” Delavin from San Fernando town in Ticao Island. She later became a Pinoy Big Brother Housemate in 2016.

According to Vice Governor Kaye Revil who spearheaded the event, the pageant aims to discover and empower young women who will help promote the province as an emerging tourist and adventure destination.

Masbate takes pride in its unspoiled powdery beaches, idyllic islands, and a host of natural wonders.

Rodeo Masbateño is the country’s biggest annual gathering of cowboys and ranchers who showcase the skills in a sporting extravaganza, and supported by the Province of Masbate, of City of Masbate, Department of Tourism-Region 5 and Filminera Resources Corp.
