Manila International Book Fair is back and bigger than ever

Manila International Book Fair, the country’s biggest and longest-running book fair, has returned for its 39th installment, inviting book lovers to once again celebrate the joy of reading in its two floors of exhibit space.

This year’s MIBF is slated on Sept. 12 to16 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City with over 100 exhibitors ranging from local indie publishers to big bookstore chains.

With an expected number of 150,000 attendees this year, MIBF has again dedicated the second floor to special exhibitions featuring children’s and young adult book publishers, including digital publications kids and kids at heart, are sure to enjoy. Fairgoers exploring the two floors of exhibits can get a hold of exclusive deals and limited items like new releases, bestsellers, and collector’s items, and even digital and physical teaching materials to assist educators with alternative teaching methods.

There is also an exciting lineup of events to highlight this year’s fair, like book signings, book launches, meet and greets, storytelling sessions for kids, special contests, workshops, and other activities to cater to bookworms both young and old.

Co-located at this year’s MIBF is the very first POP HUB: Comic Splash x Fandom Fest Vol. 1, which will be held at the SMX Function Room 3 on September 15 and 16. Geek out with the country’s largest fandoms – Fight Saber, a Lucasfilm-recognized worldwide costuming organization; Philippine Garrison, the local organization of the international 501st Legion; Philippine Tolkien Society; and Hamilton Philippines among others and come together with renowned comic book creators, artists, writers, and collectors for a weekend of fun fellowship among fandoms.

This year’s MIBF and Pop Hub are supported by ABS-CBN Publishing Inc. as media partner. The MIBF is organized by Primetrade Asia, Inc. in partnership with Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc., Book Development Association of the Philippines, Philippine Booksellers Association, Inc., and the Overseas Publishers Representatives’ Association of the Philippines.
