BizNewsAsia’s book on tycoons and taipans

BizNewsAsia marks today its 16th year of leadership as the Philippines’ largest and most influential weekly business and news magazine.

Tonight’s anniversary event starts at 6:30 at the Garden Ballroom of Edsa Shangri-La Hotel.   Those who have confirmed their attendance include two former presidents, half a dozen cabinet members of the Duterte administration, and many of the leading lights of Philippine business, the economy, and governance.

I founded BizNewsAsia in 2001 to fill a void for a local weekly business and news magazine.  The magazine readily took off, garnering a pass-on circulation, with its BizNewsAsia Power 100 issue, selling 35,000 copies, equivalent to a pass-on circulation of 350,000 readers, at ten readers per copy.

To mark BizNewsAsia’s 16th year, we honor 50 of the Philippines’ best and brightest tycoons, taipans, entrepreneurs, and CEOs.

BizNewsAsia launches today a first in the country, a book on “The Philippines’ Best: Tycoons, Taipans, Entrepreneurs”.   It is available on a private limited edition sale.  Goggle biznewsasia.net for details.

I doubt that you can find a book with such sprawling coverage of the country’s tycoons.

I have met, interviewed and interacted with Top 50 tycoons in the book.  This experience lends authority, immediacy, urgency and an air of humanity to the profiles.

I also ranked the tycoons and taipans in terms of wealth.

BizNewsAsia easily outsells local magazines and foreign brands because of its broad and deep coverage of business, politics and global issues, and outstanding profiles of personalities in business and governance.

BizNewsAsia is perhaps unique because it is one of the few publications that have not been harmed by the shift of readers and advertisers to the Internet and thus had to suffer diminishing readership and influence. BizNewsAsia never lost readership nor lost money.

This year alone, The Entrepreneur Magazine and Forbes Philippines had to stop their print version.

The BizNewsAsia blockbuster, “The Philippines’ Best: Tycoons, Taipans, Entrepreneurs” chronicles the track record of the outstanding movers and shakers of business and the economy, as well as individuals who have helped improve the life of the Filipino thru the passion in and quality of their governance.

The Who Is Who profiles are drawn from my 47 years of experience of as a business writer and analyst.
