What’s LPs next gimmick?

Your guess is as good as mine on what the so-called Opposition, particularly the “Otso-Diretso” senatorial slate, will do next for a gimmick to attract public attention and win support in next month’s midterm national elections.

Let’s just hope that it would not be anything close to Jim Paredes’ solo performance to reclaim fame as an entertainer.

But there’s really not much that the “Opposition,” a coalition of oligarchs, rightists and leftists, can do to win over the people, particularly the voters who are more enlightened and much wiser nowadays.

They can make up all tall tales against the President and his family but it will not be enough to dupe the masses by a simple smear campaign of the Yellowtards, who profess to be holier than thou.

Actually, they have already tried. The three-part video series of one alias “Bikoy” went viral on social media recently, linking the President’s family to the illegal drug trade.

The supposed hooded whistleblower in that video claims Manong Digong’s family, particularly Paolo Duterte, is on the monthly payroll of the drug syndicate. Even the 14-year-old daughter of the President, Kitty, was not spared from that hilarious so-called “expose” or “confession” of a drug whistleblower.

Actually, it is not what they can do to demonize the image of Manong Digong as much as what his leadership has done to change our lives for the better that will count come May 13.

But these idiots refuse to accept the fact that the present administration has done something for the people. Poverty incidence has gone down, prices have gone down, unemployment has gone down.

The Philippine Statistics Authority  cannot possibly tell a lie the way some survey entities do. Over five million Filipinos have risen from poverty in the last three years.

While prices of commodities have steadily gone down, more Filipinos get employed due to the government’s Build, Build, Build program.

While there have been election-related incidents, the overall crime incidence has gone down. Well, the number of drug dealers has gone down, too.

Small wonder that Manong Digong’s satisfaction rating has gone up, still in “Very Good” range, according to the Social Weather Stations.

Small wonder, too, that these “Otso- Diretso” comedians cannot do much to win. They need to work harder on their comical skit next time.
