We respect the opinion of all stakeholders

We would like to be given the opportunity to provide information about our operation in relation to an article written by Mr. Antonio “Tony” La Vina (OceanaGold’s financial and technical assistance should not be renewed).

The article was published last Oct. 5. Mr. La Viña had stated that our FTAA should not be renewed, and our mine should be closed. He then summarized the allegations listed in the 2018 IPS and Mining Watch Canada Report.

In 2015, the Didipio general manager and other members of the senior management team hosted Mining Watch Canada and other organizations at the Didipio Mine and provided a mine tour and information about the operation.

In 2016, Mr. Tony La Viña and his LLM Environmental Law students from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila also had a tour in our mine and was given information about our operation.

We respect the opinions of all stakeholders and their important role in contributing to responsible mining practices. We are always willing to engage and are pleased to share the information we have on the issues raised in the IPS and MWC report. A general summary is provided in the document attached to this letter.
