ASEAN Summit begins in Manila

The 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) Summit's opening ceremonies are ongoing at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in Pasay City.

Elaborate musical presentations showcasing the culture of Filipinos are being featured.

World leaders are watching the performances before the Summit officially begins right after the CCP event.

The Summit will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) adjacent to the CCP.

Last Sunday night, at the gala dinner hosted by the Philippines for heads of states of ASEAN member-countries, President Rodrigo Duterte sang a song titled 'Ikaw.'

He said he performed at the request of the Commander in Chief of the United States (US).

Before noon on Monday, Duterte and US President Donald Trump are expected to hold bilateral talks.

Duterte will also hold a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe this afternoon.
