Some Filipino nominees have been included in the 76th Golden Globe Awards, scheduled to take place on Jan. 6, 2019, which will be aired live in the United States with Andy Samberg and Sandrah Oh as hosts.
The nominees were announced on Dec. 6, 2018 by Terry Crews, Danai Gurira, Leslie Mann, and Christian Slater.
The 76th Golden Globe Awards, to be given at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, will honor the best in film and American television of 2018, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Leading the pack is Darren Criss who is nominated as Best Actor for his work in “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.” He is going up against Antonio Banderas, Benedict Cumberbach, Hugh Grant, and Daniel Bruhl.
The “Gianni Versace” special, which has Filipino actors like Carlin James, Issa Briones, and Jon Jon Briones in its cast, is also nominated for Best TV Limited Series or Movie for TV.
The 76th Awards will honor the best in film and American television of 2018 as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Meanwhile, Balitanghali, beamed nationwide, said “The Good Place,” which stars Filipino-Canadian Manny Jacinto, is also nominated for Best TV series—Musical or Comedy.
Balitanghali said Jacinto was recently given the Breakout in Television Award from the Kore Asian Media’s 17th Unforgettable Gala in Beverly Hills.
