Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said Sunday  she would rather remain mayor of Davao if the Davaoeños would reelect her.

She made the statement after the latest Pulse Asia survey said the daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte was fifth on the list of people who would have a statistical chance of winning in the May 2019 elections.

Five women”•three incumbent senators, a member of the House of Representatives and Duterte-Carpio”•are leading in the list of possible winners for the Senate in the May 2019 midterm elections.

In the latest Pulse Asia survey report released Saturday, Senator Grace Poe would top the list of possible winners if the May elections were held this month.

“I am overwhelmed by the trust and confidence. I think our fellow Filipinos are interested in the work that my administration, both now and in 2010, has done in Davao City,” Duterte-Carpio said.

“If the Davaoeños will reelect me, I would like to continue working for Davao City as mayor.”

“‹In August, President Rodrigo Duterte said his daughter was not keen on seeking a national post.
