Severe Tropical Storm “Maliksi,” formerly Typhoon “Domeng,” left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday but continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing moderate to heavy rain to most parts of the country on Monday.

The inclement weather moved the Supreme Court to order the suspension of work in all courts in Metro Manila on Monday afternoon.

The high court ordered the work suspension at 12 noon “due to inclement weather arising from continuous monsoon rains.”

In its bulletin issued at 4 am on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said “Maliksi,” which had been affecting Luzon and Western Visayas, was last observed at 1,770 kilometers northwest of Basco, Batanes.

It had maximum winds of up to 100 kilometers per hour with gustiness up to 120 km/hr and moving east-northeast at 23 km/hr.

Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Strong gale winds from the southwest is affecting central Luzon, the northern and eastern sections of Northern Luzon and the western and southern sections of Southern Luzon, bringing rough to very rough coastal waters.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24 to 27 degrees Celsius; in Tuguegarao City 26 to 32 degrees Celsius; in Baguio City 17 to 19 degrees Celsius; in Metro Cebu 27 to 33 degrees Celsius, and in Metro Davao 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.
