ACTRESS Liza Soberano topped the annual list of 100 women with the most beautiful faces in the world – as revealed by British film critic TC Candler and the organization The Independent Critics.

The Star Magic artist, turning 20 next week, ranked ahead of Australian actress Margot Robbie, French model and actress Thylane Blondeau, Taiwanese star Tzuyu, British actress Emma Watson, who dominated the same list in 2011, and international film stars Emilia Clarke, Natalie Portman, and Lupita Nyong’o.

“The Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces 2017” was announced in a YouTube video on Dec. 27 and has received two million views in just 24 hours.

It’s the third time for Soberano to be included in the list, having placed sixth in 2015 and second last year.

PRETTY FACE. Liza Soberano, who turns 20 next week, topped the annual list of 100 women with the most beautiful faces in the world—as revealed by British film critic TC Candler and the organization The Independent Critics.

Meanwhile, the Philippines was also well-represented in the male version of the list with James Reid (4th), Enrique Gil (61st), and Daniel Matsunaga (88th). It’s topped by Kim Tae-hyung, better known by his stage name V, a South Korean singer and a member of the K-Pop boy group BTS.

UK-born TC Candler has been publishing his annual “100 Most Beautiful Faces List” since 1990, which is devised by a group called “The Independent Critics.”

The team selects the 100 faces out of a list of 90,000 celebrities and prides itself on the diversity of the result, calling it “representative of the modern ideal of worldwide beauty.”

This diversity relies heavily on suggestions from almost every corner of the globe.

As the years have passed, The Independent Critics list has been heavily influenced by the rise of international modeling, worldwide cinema, K-Pop, Bollywood, global television, and Internet personalities.

According to TC Candler, the lists arranged by his organization The Independent Critics, are “not a popularity contest. Rather, it attempts to inform and broaden public opinion instead of reflecting it.”

What originally started off as a small collegiate project has grown into a yearly Internet phenomenon and, in recent years, the list has been seen by almost a quarter of a billion people from around the world.

It is widely considered to be the most internationally recognized and prestigious list of its kind with 40 countries represented on the annual list.
