PAL passenger dies during flight

A passenger died on board a Philippine Airlines flight from Canada, the Manila International Airport Authority reported on Tuesday.

Based on report sent by the MIAA-Media Affairs Division, a 63-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead while on board flight PR-117. The passenger is a resident of Batangas.

“At around 4:57 a.m. yesterday, Sept. 9, 2019, MIAA Medical team responded to medical assistance for arriving passenger of Philippine Airlines flight PR 117,” the MIAA-MAD report stated.

“Airline crew said that the passenger was already weak when boarding in the aircraft. History revealed that patient has a breast cancer with kidney and bone metastasis. Upon arrival of flight, patient was seen and cleared by Quarantine Medical officer on duty,” it also stated.

Initial report from the airport medical team showed that “cardio-respiratory arrest etiology end stage renal failure” caused the death of the passenger.

Airport officials informed the passenger’s family about the incident while the remains were endorsed to Romy Funeral Homes Service.
