President Rodrigo Duterte, who was last seen in public during the opening of the Palarong Pambansa on April 28, shared a photo of what he was doing, among others, on a Saturday—watching “Django Unchained” on Netflix at home in Davao City.
Duterte sent the photo to Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, who was being interviewed by the media at the sidelines of the Asian Development Bank meeting in Fiji when the President called her.
Duterte could be seen on his bed, surrounded by newspapers, and watching Netflix.
On Friday, Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo brushed aside speculations as to the health of the President, spurred by his absence in the public eye for almost a week now.
“He is very busy working. He is attending to a lot of paper works,” Panelo said.
Puyat, for her part, said Duterte was asking for updates on Boracay when he called her.
