SSS branches to accept LRP applications

The state-run Social Security System has said 70 of its branches nationwide will be open on March 30 to accept applications for the Loan Restructuring Program with penalty condonation as the deadline on April 1 draws near.

“As we anticipate the influx of member-borrowers on the last week of application for the LRP, the SSS Management has decided to open 70 branches on Saturday, March 30, to accept members wanting to avail of the program,” SSS Officer-in-Charge Aurora Ignacio said.

The LRP with penalty condonation is open to member-borrowers with past due short-term loans such as calamity loan, salary loan, emergency loan, educational loan (old), Study-Now-Pay-Later-Plan, Voch-Tech Loans, Y2K Loans, and Investment Incentive Loan. The special program shall waive the penalty once the loan principal and interest under the restructured loan is fully paid within the approved term.

The following 29 branches in National Capital Region will be open on the said date to accept LRP applications namely Cubao, Diliman, Kalookan, Novaliches, San Francisco del Monte, Valenzuela-Dalandanan, Fairview, Navotas, Malabon, Antipolo, New Panaderos, Marikina, Pasig-Pioneer, San Juan, San Mateo, Cainta, Tanay, Binondo, Legarda, Pasay-Roxas, Pasay-Taft, Welcome, Manila, Alabang, Makati-Gil Puyat, Makati-JP Rizal, Taguig, Alabang-Zapote, and Paranaque Sucat.

Meanwhile, 15 branches in Luzon namely Baguio, Cauayan, San Carlos, Olongapo, Dau, Bacoor, Binan, Calamba, Lucena, Batangas, Lemery, Lipa, Puerto Princesa, Legazpi, and Naga will also be open on said date.

Nine branches located in the Visayas region namely Cebu, Lapu-lapu, Mandaue, Tagbilaran, Tacloban, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Iloilo Central, and Kalibo are also assigned to process LRP applications on March 30.

Further, 17 branches and service offices located in the Mindanao region namely Cagayan de Oro, Robinsons Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, Robinsons Butuan, Robinsons Iligan,Davao, Davao Ilustre, Felcris Centrale, Toril, Robinsons Tagum, NCCC Tagum, General Santos, Robinsons General Santos, Koronadal, Zamboanga, Pagadian and Dipolog will also participate in extended servicing hours for LRP availment.

Ignacio once again reminded its member-borrowers to avoid last-minute filing to prevent inconvenience.

“We only have a few days left for members with delinquent loans to settle their obligations minus the penalty through the loan restructuring program. Our member-borrowers should take this opportunity to settle their loan obligations to avoid inconvenience when they file for final benefits such as retirement and death benefits.”
