Vietnam thanked on fisher’s rescue

A party-list legislator who represents the education sector on Friday thanked the Vietnamese and commended its navy for rescuing two fishermen from Occidental Mindoro who were stranded on an islet on the West Philippine Sea.

“Through our friends in Occidental Mindoro, I will ascertain how 1-Ang Edukasyon party-list group can help the two fishermen of San Jose,” Rep. Bong Belaro said.

“With this act of kindness and its Navy’s professionalism out at sea, Vietnam proved it is a true friend of Filipinos and the Philippines,” Belaro, a reserve Navy commander (lieutenant colonel in the ground and air forces) said.

He noted that the Philippines and Vietnam are both seafaring nations.

“We both care about making sure the marine life of the South China Sea will continue to sustain our peoples’ families and communities,” Belaro said.
