Mayor Abigail Binay on Saturday praised the 35 psychology students of University of Makati (UMak), including one who made it to the top six for passing the Psychometrician Licensure Test held last Oct. 29 and 30.
“My warmest congratulations to our newly licensed psychometricians! Thank you for bringing pride and glory not just to your alma matter, but to Makati City as a whole. May you inspire more young Makatizens to strive hard in their studies,” said Binay.
The city chief executive also lauded board sixth placer, Van Halen Adto, for a notable achievement, saying “your hard work and passion to excel in your chosen field are worth emulating by the youth of Makati.”
Based on the official results released by the Professional Regulation Commission last Nov. 9, only 47 percent or 4,035 out of the 8,453 examinees nationwide passed the said licensure examination.
UMak has obtained 53.03 percent overall passing rate after 35 out of its 66 examinees passed, including Adto who ranked 6th with an overall rating of 81.20 percent.
College of Science Department of Psychology head Dr. Donna Carbonilla said the other newly licensed psychometricians from UMAK are Mark Yvonne Abejero, Ma. Crisanta Attunaga, Pamela Mae Bagarinao, Geraldine Grace Ballesta, Ma. Andrea Baluyut, Hazel Barino, Stephanie Grace Borromeo, Ariane Jane Capiltan, Jayson Emmanuel Co, Ana Marie Elaine Dalena, Kimberly Mae De Leon, Marimar Dela Cruz, Norielyn Follero, James Philip Gervacio, Richel Joy Guiling, Geraldine Lachica, and Jasmin Grace Ladisla.
Completing the list of UMak passers are Maria Romelyn Longno, Melody Magtarayo, Angeline Mercado, Mary Grace Miranda, Airel Ann Olarte, Mary Jane Oliveros, Marjorie Olladas, Agape Christelle Maye Perez, Jovigail Pili, Rehenna Jane Reyes, Angela Grace Sales, Melissa Sicat, Adriane Jomel Sodusta, Irish Anne Sta. Ana, Donna Tesorero, Joy Marie Todoc, and Mary Christine Vargas.
The October 2018 Psychometrician Licensure Examination was administered simultaneously by the Board of Psychology in the cities of Manila, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
Successful examinees are set to register for the issuance of their Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration from November 19 to November 29, 2018.
In August, some 26 UMak pharmacy graduates passed the Radiologic Technologist Licensure Examination, posting an overall 92.86 percent passing rate for UMak. Last June, 21 UMak nursing graduates also passed the Nurse Licensure Examination, resulting in a 75 percent passing rate for the city-run university.
