Beginning Oct. 28, 2018, the Philippine Airlines will strictly implement a new closure time for check-in counters of international flights departing from all airports in the Philippines and around the world, except flights out of Quanzhou (Jinjiang).

The airline management stated that check-in counters will now close one hour before departure time instead of the usual 45 minutes before departure time.

Ahead of the Oct. 28 implementation, the following international stations are already observing the new one-hour-before-departure counter closure time rule, namely: PAL stations in Bangkok, Dammam, Doha, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, London, JFK (New York), Riyadh, Shanghai (Pudong), Toronto and Vancouver.

For Quanzhou (Jinjiang), check-in closure time remains at 45 minutes prior to departure.

PAL advised passengers to arrive at the airport early in order to be able to complete the flight check-in and additional screening process before counters close.

In addition, the new rule gives passengers adequate time to go through immigration and security checks and allows them to be at the departure gates in time for flight boarding.
