The supporters of Opposition Senator Leila De Lima held a protest in front of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Headquarters in Quezon City today.
They are seeking the release of De Lima from jail inside the PNP Custodial Center.
Prior to this, they held a protest march for the detained lawmaker.
It has been a year since De Lima was locked up.
Fellow senators in the minority are expected to visit De Lima.
They include Senate Majority Leader Franklin Drilon and Senator Bam Aquino.
Former Senator Mar Roxas may also show up.
De Lima was detained on February 24, 2017 over drug charges.
She was accused of the Department of Justice (DOJ) of involvement in illegal drug trade inside New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Juanita Guerrero issued the warrant of arrest for De Lima.
The PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) served the arrest warrant for the senator.
