Demafelis' kin hails Lebanese employer's arrest

The family of Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW)Joanna Demafelis in Iloilo feels some comfort following the arrest of her Lebanese employer.

The OFW's employer in Kuwait, Nader Essam Assaf, was nabbed in his hometown in Lebanon.

His Syrian wife, Mona, remains at large and is reportedly hiding in Syria.

Both are suspects in the death of Demafelis.

Thr Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) hopes Assaf will be immediately repatriated to Kuwait to face charges in court.

Demafelis' corpse was found in a freezer in an abandoned apartment in Kuwait early this month.

She had been missing for more than a year.

Demafelis' family says, the report gives them some relief as they know they will now be able to get justice for her death.

The OFW will be laid to rest on March 3.

Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo will lead the offering of a requiem mass for Demafelis.
