Storm 'Basyang' kills 4 in Surigao del Sur

Four (4) persons have been killed by landslides in Carrascal, Surigao del Sur.

This comes as "Basyang" rages in the area.

The landslides occured at past 4 am today.

Three victims come from Barangay Gamuton.

Initial reports identify them as 23-year-old Irene Denguillo and her 6-year-old and 2-year-old children.

A 10-year-old child also died in Barangay Babuyan as he was on his way to an evacuation center.

Meanwhile, power supply has been cut in the town.

The storm made landfall at 9:15 am in Cortes, Surigao del Sur.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reports, about 2,704 passengers are stranded in ports across Northern Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.

366 RORO vessels are not allowed to sail.

At least 10 domestic flights were cancelled due to bad weather.
