Storm “Basyang” slows down as it moves west

Tropical storm "Basyang" has slightly slowed down as it moves westward.

PAGASA says, its current location is about 620 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Basyang is packing maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

The storm is moving west westward at 22 kph.

It is expected to make landfall in Caraga tomorrow morning.

PAGASA has raised tropical cyclone warning signal number 2 in Surigao del Sur.

Signal number 1 is in effect over the following areas:

Southern portion of Samar

Southern portion of Eastern Samar

Leyte

Southern Leyte

Bohol

Cebu

Negros Oriental

Siquijor

Dinagat Islands

Surigao del Norte

Agusan del Norte

Agusan del Sur

Camiguin

Compostela Valley

Davao Oriental

Davao del Norte

Misamis Oriental

Misamis Occidental

Lanao del Norte

Lanao del Sur

Bukidnon 

Northern portion of Zamboanga del Norte
