A House leader on Tuesday urged local government executives to pursue programs that would empower micro, small and medium enterprises following President Rodrigo Duterte's recent declaration to make adjustments in the 2019 national budget to provide more support for such endeavors.
Camariñes Sur Rep. LRay Villafuerte, vice chairperson of the House committee on appropriations, said small businesses, complemented by the unprecedented massive infrastructure program of the Duterte administration, would provide the momentum needed to boost the government’s goal of sustaining the economy's high growth rate and spreading its benefits across the regions.
