Prime suspect in Castillo's fatal hazing to undergo inquest

The primary suspect in the fatal hazing of University of Sto Tomas (UST) freshman law student Horacio Castillo is facing inquest proceeding.

An inquest is an informal and summary investigation conducted by a public prosecutor for a detained suspect.

The prosecutor will decide if the suspect should remain in police custody and if he/she should be charged in court.

Solano is facing charges of perjury and violation of the Anti-Hazing Law.

He is in the custody of the Manila Police District after he surrendered to Senator Panfilo Lacson on Friday.

Solano, who is a member of Aegis Juris fraternity, had earlier claimed to be the one who found the "half-dead" body of Castillo on a pavement in Balut, Tondo, Manila at dawn on Sunday.

He was also the among the ones who brought Castillo to the Chinese General Hospital.
