Chiz dismayed over PH schools ranking

Senator Chiz Escudero expressed dismay over the performance of universities and colleges in the Philippines since only University of the Philippines was included in the world university rankings.

“I commend UP for advancing in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, however, this is dismal since no other Philippine universities entered the global rankings," lamented Escudero.

The senator, chairman of the Senate Committee on Education, Arts and Culture, also said this only shows that even the Philippines’ leading universities are struggling in the global arena.

The state-run UP climbed to the 601-800 range from the “>800 bracket” in the world rankings by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, reaching an overall score of 30.6 out of 100.
