Alleged Western Visayas drug lord killed

Operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) have killed an alleged top drug dealer in Western Visayas.

Richard Prevendido was killed at past 8 pm on Friday in an alleged shootout with police.

The incident took place in Landheights Subdivision in Barangay Balabago, Jaro District, Iloilo City.

Prevendido's son Dopoy was also gunned down.

Iloilo Provincial Police Office Chief Sr. Supt. Marlon Tayapa says, police were supposed to serve the warrant of arrest for Prevendido.

A bounty worth P 1.1 million was previously raised for any information leading to the alleged drug lord's arrest.

Prevendido had been hiding for a year.
