Transport network company (TNC) Uber has apologized to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Just before the meeting called by Senate Committee on Public Services Chairperson Grace Poe in the Senate on Wednesday, Uber Technologies Southeast Asia Regional Manager Michael Brown approached Martin Delgra.
He told Delgra, "if there's any misunderstanding in the past, that's on us and I apologize for that misunderstanding."
In response, Delgra told Brown that his company should follow the law.
"This is not a fight. We're trying to work together to address public transportation issues," Delgra said.
Brown flew from Singapore on Tuesday night to be able to attend the "urgent meeting" set by Poe.
Senator JV Ejercito was in the meeting and he said Uber had agreed to comply with the order set by the LTFRB.
On Monday, the Board suspended the operations of Uber for one month after the TNC supposedly failed to follow the order to suspend the accreditation of new drivers into its systems.
