Philippine National Police – National Capital Region Police Office (PNP-NCRPO) Director Oscar Albayalde has deployed nearly a thousand cops around Batasan Complex to ensure order amid the protests of militant groups.

Albayalde says, the police have not received any intelligence information about any plot that will disrupt the usual activities that happen on the day the President delivers the State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Nevertheless, he says, it is better to be alert and observe the persons who are joining the demonstrations.

“Baka malusutan sila ng mga CPP-NPA. Alam naman natin na nag-bog down ang peace talks (the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army might infliltrate their rank. We know that the peace talks with the communist rebels bogged down.)”

As for security threats from terrorist groups, Albayalde says, the police have not received any information.
