Massive fires happening in Marawi City

Massive fires are ongoing in two areas in Marawi City.

This comes, following the air strikes by the military on Monday morning.

Initial reports say, several houses are burning.

Thick black smoke from the raging infernos fill the sky above the city.

Firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection will attempt to put out the fires.

The air strikes are targeting Maute positions in four barangays still under the control of the terrorists.

Over the weekend, the government troops were able to clear about 60 buildings.

The military commanders estimate, soldiers are fighting with about 80 Maute fighters who are mostly snipers.

President Rodrigo Duterte had said, fighting in the city will be over in 10 to 15 days.
