Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Mindanao Command (AFP Wesmincom) Head Lt. Gen. Carlito Galvez hails the arrest of two suspected Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) members.

Joint Task Forces Tawi-Tawi composed of the Philippine Marines, the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police Maritime Patrol caught ASG sub-leader Omar Harun alias Abu Halipa and ASG member Ara Samindi.

Halipa was nabbed in Poblacion Taganak while Samindi was apprehended in Lagaan Island in Taganak town.

Joint Task Forces Tawi-Tawi Commander Brigadier General Custodio Parcon says, the two suspects are actively involved in bandit group’s kidnapping activities in the waters off Sabah and Sulu.

They reportedly take charge of logistics.
