Soldiers fighting less than 100 Maute terrorists in Marawi City

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Spokesman Restituto Padilla estimates the number of Maute terrorists fighting government forces in Marawi City at about eighty (80).

He also says, soldiers still have to clear less than a thousand buildings in the city that were occupied by the terrorists.

Meanwhile, Department of Education Secretary Leonor Briones says, government needs to spend at least P 2.3 billion to rebuild schools in the conflict-torn city.

She says, about 132 school buildings were affected by the clashes.

Briones notes, 15 schools were bombed, burned and looted during the siege.
