7 VIPs to arrive in PH on Friday for ASEAN Summit

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is expecting the arrival of seven VIPs (Very Important Persons) on Friday.

MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal says, this may cause delays in some flights in the airports.

Those who are arriving in Manila on Friday for the 30th Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) Summit are the heads of state from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

State Councilor Aung San Suu Kyi will represent Myanmar.

Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak are already here.

The ASEAN Leaders’ Summit will take place on Saturday at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente says, special lanes have been set up at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to quickly process the entry of delegates to the ASEAN summit and related meetings.
