Duterte eyes cabinet post for Cimatu

President Rodrigo Duterte is eyeing a cabinet position for Former Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Roy Cimatu.

Duterte expressed his interest in inviting Cimatu to join his cabinet in his arrival speech from the Middle East.

“Siya ay magiging cabinet member one of these days (He will be a cabinet member one of these days),” said Duterte.

The Chief Executive says, he just has to talk about it with the retired general.

Cimatu was appointed Special Envoy to the Middle East and he took charge of the mass evacuation of Filipinos in the Middle East in 2003 during the military campaign of the United States against Iraq.
