Secretary to the Cabinet Leoncio “Jun” Evasco Jr. announces there will be no forced eviction in the housing project of the National Housing Authority (NHA) in Bulacan for now.

This comes, after members of the Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (KADAMAY) occupied about 5,280 houses in resettlement areas in Pandi town.

Evasco acknowledges that “it is government that makes the procedure of housing projects delayed.”

He says, he will take up the issue with fellow cabinet members.

“I want to bring this topic to the cabinet para mapabilis natin ito (so that we can hasten this), he said.

He, however says, later on, those who occupied the housing units will have to move out.

Yang mga bahay diyan sa Pandi, mayroon na diyang naghihintay na occupants (there are already people who are waiting to occupy the units),” he explains.
