Albayalde orders Caloocan police overhaul

Philippine National Police-National Capital Region Police Office (PNP-NCRPO) Director Oscar Albayalde has ordered the overhaul of the 1,000-member police force of Caloocan City.

This comes after an incident wherein cops violated several standard operating procedures in a raid conducted in a house on September 7.

The move is also prompted by the deaths of teenagers in police operations and the conflicting reports on how they died.

Albayalde says, the initial shake-up had begun at Station 4.

Today, he ordered the relief of police personnel at Stations 2 and 7.

More changes will take place in other precincts.

The sacked policemen will undergo retraining for 45 days.

They will be temporarily replaced by police operatives from the Regional Public Safety Batallion of the PNP-NCRPO.

Albayalde notes, only the Caloocan police director and the deputy director for administration will be spared from the movement since they have just been assigned to their posts.
