Classes suspended for July 22 SONA
QUEZON City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Thursday announced the suspension of classes in private and public elementary and secondary schools in the city on July 22 on the fourth State-of-the-Nation-Address for President Benigno Aquino III.
The suspension was based on the assessment and recommendation of the Quezon City Police District, division of city schools and Department of Public Order and Safety, he said.
“The safety and protection of our schoolchildren shall remain as the city’s primordial concern,” he said, noting the need to help ease traffic congestion during the President’s SONA.
Bautista classes in universities and college level will be left to the discretion of the Commission on Higher Education.
The Quezon City Polytechnic University in Novaliches proper will also be suspended on Monday, vice president for administration Melanie Pisig said.
